Jenny Seddon

Professor Jenny Seddon is the Deputy Vice Chancellor Research at James Cook University. 

Prior to her current appointment, Prof Seddon was Associate Dean Research and Deputy Executive Dean for the Faculty of Science at the University of Queensland, and previously, Deputy Head of School, Veterinary Science also at UQ.

She is a conservation geneticist with an international research reputation in phylogeography and population genetics, working to develop multidisciplinary, practical solutions for the conservation of wildlife.

With a significant track record in grant funding, PhD supervision and over 90 peer reviewed publications, Prof Seddon has been responsible for enhancing research performance across a diverse array of scientific disciplines, building research partnerships, and supporting the development of researchers and research students in one of Australia’s largest and most research intensive science faculties.
