Professor Stewart Lockie is Distinguished Professor of Sociology and Director of the Cairns Institute at James Cook University. He has over 20 years’ experience researching environmental policy, coastal management, biodiversity conservation, food security, risk management and the social impacts of resource development. Stewart is Foundation Editor of the journal Environmental Sociology and a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia.
