Executive Director, Projects and Partnerships, Great Barrier Reef Foundation
Theresa’s passion is convening diverse groups of purpose-driven people to co-design and deliver high-impact, transformational programs that address complex challenges within complex systems.
With more than 25 years of experience in the research and not-for-profit sectors, she knows it is critical that our project portfolio delivers practical action and scientific innovation to the areas that need it most. Her previous roles have helped to build this focus; leading a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Grand Challenges in Global Health program across Africa, establishing a $100M Research Centre to address the hidden problem of chronic wounds in Australia and co-leading the scaling of the Great Barrier Reef Foundation following the awarding of a landmark $443M grant to build the resilience of the Great Barrier Reef.
Her role at the Foundation combines overseeing the delivery of our global conservation portfolio alongside building enduring partnerships with Indigenous Peoples and local communities, donors, the science community, industry and government. She oversees more than 400 projects and 500 delivery partners across the Indo-Pacific region, to ensure all Reef projects have real and enduring impac
