Chair of Engineering and Information Technology, SCU
Charles received an BSc(Hon) and MSc in Marine Science from the University of Sydney and a PhD in environmental fluid dynamics from the University of Western Australia, and likes to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams to solve complex problems.
Charles, who is a fellow of the Institute of Engineers Australia, has worked across varied marine environments with a specialty in developing and assessing monitoring and modelling systems that have use in marine dispersal, air/sea rescue, sediment/pollution transport and coastal/marine management. He is also a passionate educator and developed programs and processes to enhance student learning at the tertiary level.
Charles is currently the Discipline Chair of Engineering and Information Technology at Southern Cross University, and an active board member of the Coastal and Estuarine Research Foundation.

The Reef Restoration and Adaptation Program respects and recognises all Traditional Owners of the Great Barrier Reef as First Nations Peoples holding the hopes, dreams, traditions and cultures of the Reef.
