Regulatory Compliance Lead
Kathryn is the Regulatory Compliance Lead of the Reef Restoration and Adaptation Program (RRAP) subprogram and ReefWorks, and is based at the Australian Institute of Marine Science in Townsville.
Kathryn provides cross-disciplinary advice and support to the programs including the application of Australian Legislation and policy for marine technology-based activities, Traditional Owner Engagement and regulatory approval of interventions. She also provides support to achieve safety management systems for complex marine activities.
Prior to joining AIMS in 2015 and then again in 2023, Kathryn gained 7 years of experience as a Reef Educator, and Permissions Compliance Officer across government organisations. Kathryn holds a Bachelor of Science (Biochemistry and Chemistry) from Flinders University, Adelaide, with a Masters from James Cook University, Townsville, and is a PADI Dive Master.
Reef Restoration and Adaptation Program
The Reef Restoration and Adaptation Program respects and recognises all Traditional Owners of the Great Barrier Reef as First Nations Peoples holding the hopes, dreams, traditions and cultures of the Reef.
