Dr Daniel Harris

UQ

Daniel Harris is an early career researcher focused on change in coastal and coral reef systems and the processes driving this change over multiple spatial and temporal scales. His research uses a suite of approaches including hydrodynamic and geomorphic field measurement, geological reconstruction of coral reef systems, development of sea level curves, GIS analysis and remote sensing, and hydrodynamic modelling. Dr Harris uses this skillset to develop links between geological and ecological perspectives of coral reef change. His research on future trajectories of coral reef and coastal wave processes and coral reef response to changes in sea level has led to widespread international recognition and to revaluations of our understanding of the geomorphic evolution of coral reef systems globally and in the Great Barrier Reef.
